Travel demand rebounds, occupancy rises: HVS

With fewer cases and a relaxation of Covid-19 related restrictions in the country, the travel demand rebounded sharply in February, 2022. As a result, hotel occupancy increased significantly over the previous month, and room rates continued their steady Y-o-Y growth. Also driving hotel demand are factors such as moderate resumption of corporate travel, small MICE, weddings and social events, as well as religious travel. In addition, the domestic air traffic increased by over 20% in February compared to January 2022.
