Rethinking Tourism starts with Sustainability: Zubin Saxena

Making a compelling call for Sustainability, Mr. Zubin Saxena, MD & VP – Operations, South Asia, RHG believes that opting for sustainable ways should not be viewed as a cost. Rather, the operational improvisations towards sustainability should be considered as an investment for the future. “There is the payback on improvisation around sustainability. There’s a real ROI attached to sustainability,” he opines. He was speaking at the inauguration of EV Charger facility at Radisson Blu Plaza Delhi Airport, in association with SunFuel. The global brand plans to EV-enable its portfolio of more than 100 hotels across South Asia.  “At RHG, Sustainability is not a new phenomenon. Every RHG hotel has a sewage treatment plant right from the inception. Almost 60% of our hotels are on LEDs today. We are using laundry chemicals, which can be used at a lower temperature, and it brings down the heating cost of your equipment. These are improvisations that go a long way,” he said.

The inauguration was also attended by Inge Huijbrechts – Global Senior Vice President Sustainability, Security, and Corporate Communications for Radisson Hotel Group who said, “As one of the leading hospitality companies we have a vision to facilitate responsible tourism and travel. We do this with our own sustainability strategy and commitment to Net Zero, and by offering sustainable value propositions to our guests such as this brand-new network of EV chargers. We are proud to be playing a leadership role to establish a framework to grow sustainable travel, give back to nature and build a climate-conscious community of travelers.”
