Novotel Guwahati GS Road is the first 5-star hotel in NE India to have EV Charging Station

Perched besides the bank of Brahmaputra, the sprawling city of Guwahati, in the Northeast state of Assam, is popular for its natural beauty, holy site and wildlife. It also serves as a link to seven other north-eastern states. Complementing the city’s eco-conscious growth mind-set, Novotel Guwahati GS Road installs Electric Vehicle Charging Station at the hotel. A step towards greener tourism, the property becomes the first five star hotel in North East India to have an EV Charging Station open for all the guests. The hotel has collaborated with EVbooth App, a Chargingride Technologies Pvt Ltd initiative, to help environmentally conscious customers in reducing their travel carbon footprint and collectively work towards a sustainable future.

Sustainability at the heart

With the rising environmental concerns, Accor is constantly looking at eco-conscious ways to protect the planet. At the hotel, team has adopted sustainable practices. Making an EV charging point available in the hotel premises will help the EV owners & drivers to enjoy their road journeys hassle-free. Demand for EV is growing continuously and easy availability of EV Charging Station will positively boost this demand. This will create an encouraging impact on car buyers, as the charging points are available at prominent locations. Novotel Guwahati’s commitment to sustainability and the planet gets a strong boost with this step towards reduction of carbon emission.

Heartist work towards sustainable future

Besides building an effective EV charging station, the hotel also initiated a drive to get rid of single-use plastic usage. On World environment day, the “heartist” team of Novotel Guwahati GS Road joined hands to clean the nearby roads from single-use plastic waste. It was an awareness camp against single-use plastic. The hotel provides eco-friendly amenities such as wall-mounted dispensers for toiletries for the guests.

Mr. Nitin Pathak is leading sustainable initiatives for the hotel and his team is working under his leadership to get rid of every single-use plastic usage by October 2022.
