Jehan Numa Wilderness in Satpura Tiger Reserve and the Jehan Numa Retreat in Bhopal, launches the Bori Safari Lodge as the first wildlife lodge in the Bori Wildlife Sanctuary area of Madhya Pradesh. Located just 4km away from the gate of the Sanctuary and 2.5 hours away from the Satpura National Park, the charming lodge is nestled amidst a 7.5-acre farmland estate in the lush and rustic Dhapada Village.
Regarding the newly launched lodge, Aly Rashid, Director of Jehan Numa Wilderness, said, “If guests spend enough time here, they have a unique opportunity to see all major carnivores of Central India, namely the tiger, Leopard, sloth bear and wild dog. There are also opportunities to explore the area not just by jeep but also on foot, on bicycle and at night. There is so much wildlife here and no accommodation to stay in. This is what inspired me to develop the Bori Safari Lodge. Personally, I have a great connection with this area, especially Churna (the core zone), as it was the first wildlife destination I visited as a child.”
Jehan Numa Wilderness is a member of the RARE India Community of conscious luxury hotels. Talking about the latest entrant to the RARE India Community, Shoba Mohan, Founder, RARE India, said, “One of the ideas propagated with Satpura opening up is to shift focus to lesser known National Parks and lesser known areas of the National Parks. This ensures that carrying capacities are addressed and crowding is kept at bay. With Satpura, early settlers like Aly Rashid of Reni Pani Jungle Lodge have also ensured that wildlife other than the Tiger also got adequate attention, thereby encouraging wildlife travellers to appreciate sloth bears, gaurs, leopards etc. Now with Bori Safari Lodge, there is another zone to direct tourism to.”
