ITC converts 4 Welcomhotel properties into paid quarantine facilities

Hotels are now being converted into paid quarantine facilities across India in partnership with hospitals amid the uncontrolled rise of Covid cases here. Hospitality major ITC Group has converted some if its Welcomhotel properties across India into paid quarantine facilities in partnership with hospitals. Available for asymptomatic or mildly symptomatic patients as advised by partner hospitals, the latter provide on-site medical care as per their guidelines.
The converted Welcomhotel properties include the ones in Dwarka (Delhi), Coimbatore, Chennai and Bengaluru.
Tata Group Taj Hotels has so also converted some of its hotels in eight cities, including Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, Chennai and Hyderabad, into quarantine centres for asymptomatic and mildly symptomatic Covid patients at the discretion of the parter hospital.

The Oberoi Group says its Trident, Bandra Kurla in Mumbai is “extending full support by providing rooms and requisite services to non-critical Covid-19 patients and doctors from H N Reliance Foundation Hospital from April 25.
The Delhi government had earlier this month requisitioned about 30 hotels and banquet halls and attached them to leading hospitals following the sharp surge in Covid cases. These converted places provide over 2,300 beds.
As per the Delhi government order, hospitals will be responsible for ensuring hotels attached to them have doctors, nurses, oxygen supply and resuscitation equipment for admitted patients apart from consumables PPE kits, gloves. The attached hotel or banquet hall will be responsible for regular services like providing rooms, housekeeping, disinfection and meals for patients. The state has capped rates in hotels.”
