Underlining India’s potential to become a front runner in sustainable tourism, Amitabh Kant, G-20 Sherpa called the Indian hospitality industry “the number one agent of change”. “The industry can nudge people towards adopting a lifestyle for the planet. We should work towards differentiating and decarbonising our destinations, which will help attract the growing number of pro planet travellers. This will also enhance the brand equity of India as a leading sustainable destination,” he said while addressing the audience at FHRAI’s Travel For Life Tourism Sustainability Summit 2024.
