Pradeep Shetty, President, FHRAI, has highlighted the substantial impact of India’s hospitality industry on the national economy. According to Shetty, the sector contributes 12 to 13 per cent to India’s GDP and provides employment for over 12 per cent of the workforce. “This significant contribution not only underscores the industry’s economic importance but also places it ahead of prominent sectors such as automobile manufacturing and information technology in terms of GDP impact and job creation,” said Shetty.
