Hotel Association of India has appreciated the statement of Hon’ble G Kishan Reddy, Union Minister of Tourism about giving industry status to tourism sector and placing it before the upper house of the Parliament as it echoes and vindicates what the body has been advocating for a long time.
Appreciating Reddy’s support and statement, M P Bezbaruah, Secretary General, HAI, said, “Hospitality and tourism sector is one of the largest contributors to employment and GDP globally. Hotels generate jobs in every skill category and also employ women and specially-abled persons in large numbers. This sector can help drive the government’s agenda of inclusive growth like no other.”
