Deltin Group to open new resort in Goa

Deltin Group is in the process of developing a large integrated resort in Goa with hotels, a theatre, a water park, a shopping arcade and a convention centre. The property is planned to be spread over 125 acres of land and would be situated near the new airport in Goa. In addition, the group has plans to invest INR 150 crore to build a new casino vessel. This would replace the existing Deltin Caravela vessel. Deltin Group is predominantly known for luxury gaming and entertainment where hotels act as feeders to the former.

Deltin has created a niche premium escapade at each of their properties in Goa and Daman. “Goa and Daman, being the most easily accessible drive in holiday destinations, have certainly witnessed a steady rise in the influx of the number of tourists post the lockdown. We have seen a lot of leisure travellers since the reopening of the borders for domestic tourism,” Anil Malani, President of Operations – Deltin said.

“We are averaging about 50 per cent occupancy in Daman, the rate of occupancy in Goa is high,” Malani added. After months of being shut during the lockdown, business travel and tourism have picked up pace within India as life crawls back to what seems to be normalcy with uncertainty still very much lurking around. The hospitality industry has shown its maturity and resilience; SOP’s have been rewritten, processes have been re-engineered and commitment to safety and hygiene has come at the forefront across the industry.

“It is very difficult to predict what to watch out for as the Covid-19 situation remains dynamic until the world reaches the herd immunity stage; but one thing is for sure, the world has understood that lockdown can’t be a permanent solution and we need to find ways to live with it, hence, assurance and enforcement of a safe and comfortable environment is going to remain a priority for the hospitality industry for the months ahead,” Malani said.
