Accor has expanded its Fairmont Hotels & Resorts portfolio in India with the signing of Fairmont Shimla Fagu. Expected to open its doors in 2026, the property will be built on a 2.5-acre hilltop plot of land at an altitude of 2,400 metres in Fagu, Shimla. The 105-key luxury resort will be the fourth Fairmont property in India, following Fairmont Jaipur, which opened in 2012, Fairmont Mumbai, and Fairmont Udaipur.
Mark Willis, CEO, Fairmont Hotels & Resorts, said, “This signing is a true milestone for us in the region and for Fairmont Hotel & Resorts to introduce such a unique building in one of the most scenic locations in the country. Being the fourth Fairmont property in India and the first in Himachal, Fairmont Shimla Fagu, with its distinct presence and unique architecture, is set to become an iconic landmark in Shimla.”
