HRAWI and the Atal Incubation Centre – Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (AIC-BARC) have partnered to revolutionise solid waste management in hotels and resorts. An MoU signed by both organisations will facilitate the implementation of BARC’s advanced waste management technologies, including Nisargruna, Shesha, and Solid Waste Composting, across HRAWI’s member establishments. This initiative aligns with the ‘Swachh Bharat’ mission and aims to significantly reduce the environmental footprint of the hospitality sector.
The collaboration will provide HRAWI members with access to licensed partners for technology installation and maintenance, with AIC-BARC offering technical guidance throughout the process. Beyond environmental benefits, the partnership is expected to reduce waste management expenses over time. Trupti Pawar, Secretary General, HRAWI shared, “Additionally, the collaboration will foster innovation by supporting startups and sharing best practices in waste management, demonstrating a commitment to both sustainability and economic viability within the hospitality industry.”
