Odisha is actively promoting itself as a prime destination for MICE and wedding tourism. The Odisha Tourism department has urged industry stakeholders to capitalise on these growing markets. Pravati Parida, Deputy Chief Minister and Manoj Ahuja, Chief Secretary have pledged support for new tourism and hospitality ventures in the state. Parida highlighted Konark and Puri as ideal wedding destinations, while Bhubaneswar is gaining popularity for MICE events. These niche tourism areas were also recently emphasised by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Utkarsh Odisha Conclave, where he positioned Odisha as a key player in the “Wed in India” and “Heal in India” initiatives.
