Pune, Maharashtra, 5th May 2023 – The students and faculty of AISSMS College of Hotel Management and Catering Technology (CHMCT), have successfully achieved a world record for preparing an astonishing 100 curries in a mere 250 minutes, certified by World Book of Records London and Iudex. This remarkable feat is a tribute to the rich and diverse Indian cuisine and a testament to the exceptional talent and dedication of the team. The attempt was also a part of the AISSM Society’s centenary milestone celebrated last year, and AISSMS CHMCT’s commendable completion of 25 years.
The record-setting attempt took place on 5th May 2023 at the CHMCT campus, where 250 students and faculty came together to showcase their culinary prowess on a global platform. The students worked tirelessly, demonstrating their passion and teamwork, to prepare a variety of curries that impressed the judges and set a new benchmark for culinary excellence.
The event was inaugurated by Shri Malojiraje Chhatrapati, Hon. Secretary, AISSM Society in presence of the Guest of Honour Chef Shailendra Kekade, Celebrity Chef and Restaurateur, Dr. Sonali Jadhav, Principal AISSMS CHMCT and Office Bearers of AISMM Society.
The entire process of attempting this world record was monitored and evaluated by a Panel of Jury comprising of Mr. Rajeev Srivastava, Vice President , World Book of Record – India, representing World Book of Records, London, Dr Aparna Deshpande as subject experts and Dr Archana Biwal as gazetted officers, who confirmed that the team had successfully set a new world record.
The Team comprising Faculty, staff and students to attempt this World Record is led by Principal Dr. Sonali Jadhav, and Head of Culinary Department Dr. Gauri Shah.
