25000+ hotel rooms needed by 2025: NOESIS

Presenting NOESIS’s latest report on “Airports and their impact on Hospitality Sector & Overall Economy”, Nandivardhan Jain, CEO NOESIS says, “If 80 new airports by 2025 come, it will give a massive boost to the hospitality sector as there will be demand for 25,000 more hotel rooms in these markets. Subject to concerned authorities successfully managing to plan & build hospitality districts around these airports, the effective implementation of local tourism programs at these destinations will lead to an opportunity to create millions of job opportunities. These proposed airports are an opportunity to strengthen local economies.” Airports across major cities of India have also seen a rise in passenger traffic in the last financial year. The recovery of passenger traffic from the lockdown of the pandemic is on the way with all key markets reaching closer to their 2019 demand.

The impact of airports on the economy of the region was highlighted with the example of the Chandigarh airport. The construction of the airport increased the output of the national economy by Rs. 3,105 crores, added Rs. 1,298 crore and created around 57,000 jobs. Similarly, the construction of The Chhatrapati Shivaji international airport in Mumbai increased the output of the national economy by Rs. 32,960 crore while adding Rs. 19,780 crores and generating 10, 98,000 jobs.
