Shri G. Kishan Reddy

Shri G. Kishan Reddy, Hon’ble Minister of State for Home Affairs, Government of India said, “Today everybody knows, the entire world a common enemy in the form of COVID-19, every nation is developing its own ways and means to tackle its impact. The impact of COVID has been worse and some sectors such as tourism and hospitality, entertainment, education etc. Our government has put in place various measures for crisis management and supporting tourism. In the beginning of the outbreak itself, GOI setup a 24/7 COVID cells and several guidelines for the benefit of the industry, for the foreign tourists stranded in India the hotels wards were setup to effectively tackle the situation, a joint working group with the tourism officers. As many people have lost jobs, GOI is working in different ways to provide reskilling and upskilling of employees, I also encourage industry leaders and organisation to  submit expert recommendation for the government to consider. Any such inputs will be highly valued. I request organisers to submit representations with this regard. We must increasingly focus on revival with adhering to the govt guidelines and suggestions of the expert, and gradually the sector can start attracting tourism. Hospitality is primarily about our ethos grounded in the philosophy of ‘Atithi devo bhava’, customer safety and well being.”
