Hotelivate announced that the Hotel Investment Conference – South Asia (HICSA) will now be held from November 4-5, 2020 at the Hyatt Andaz, New Delhi. However, they have also kept the February 24 and 25, 2021 as our back-up dates. A final decision on the actual date will be taken on or before September. The event is shifted to New Delhi at the request of many of our supporters. We remain grateful to both Hyatt and IHCL who will continue to graciously host us, this time in Delhi, with our two networking evening functions.
Several of the industry colleagues have shown keen interest in HICSA 2020 being a live event. While there is enough pent-up demand for HICSA, there may be need to cap the number of attendees, to ensure adherence to social distancing guidelines. The goal along with the Hyatt team is to make HICSA 2020 into a benchmark event for a business conference. Also, the general feeling is that if the hospitality industry are unwilling to attend one of their own events, then they might not be able to elicit the support of hotel brands in getting us business. Therefore, leading by example, they will put in place all precautions to ensure a very safe and successful interaction. These precautions could potentially include on-site rapid anti-body tests for all conference participants, as well as the attendance of some Global CEOs virtually and not in person.
