Kochi Marriott hotel has announced the appointment of Janine Fernandez as the Director of Operations. Janine has over 16 years of experience in successfully managing human resources in the field of Hospitality and Finance. Prior to her new role, Janine was the Director of Human Resources at the Renaissance Mumbai Convention Centre Hotel & Marriott Executive Apartments. Her perseverance and effective leadership steered her way to win the title, Human Resources Person of the Year 2016 at the prestigious Hotelier India Awards. After a 16 years stint in Human Resources she was enrolled in the Marriott Operations Career Track for Hotel Operations which she successfully completed and is now transitioning into her new role.
Janine commenced her career with the Indian Hotels Company Limited, Taj Group of Hotels, Mumbai as an Assistant Manager, Human Resources and went on to qualify as the youngest TBEM Assessor. She was the HR and Training Manager at the Claridges Hotel, New Delhi and has also served as the Director of Human Resources at Park Hotel in Hyderabad. She spearheaded the Human Resources function to launch the very first Fairmont in India with Fairmont Jaipur.
Janine has also been associated with established financial brands such as HSBC India and Mahindra& Mahindra as the VP Management Development and Senior Manager-Human Resources respectively.
Before assuming her position at Renaissance Hotel Mumbai, Janine was working as a Consultant with Prognosis Global Consulting Ltd- a premier; full service Consulting, Technology and Asset Management Services Company focused on Hospitality, Leisure and Food Services industry in South Asia Region.
