Sales strategy has become a decisive differentiator for mid-scale and regional hospitality groups operating in fragmented markets. As domestic travel patterns diversify and distribution channels evolve, the ability to build resilient partnerships and respond quickly to demand fluctuations has become central to commercial performance. Within this context, Summit Hotels and Resorts appoints Anjila Yonzon as Group General Manager – Sales, advancing its internal leadership pipeline and strengthening its commercial capability.
Yonzon’s appointment reflects a long-term talent development trajectory within the organisation. Having spent more than twelve years with Summit, beginning in the reservations function, she brings deep institutional knowledge and first-hand understanding of the group’s customer base, distribution landscape and market behaviour. Her progression from frontline operations to senior sales leadership highlights the organisation’s focus on building capability from within — a growing priority across regional hotel groups adapting to high turnover levels and recruitment challenges.
In her new role, Yonzon will oversee sales strategy, key account management, partnership growth and market development across Summit’s portfolio. These areas have become increasingly critical as independent hotel groups seek to strengthen rate integrity, increase direct business and broaden their geographic reach. Her experience in forging industry partnerships and expanding Summit’s sales network offers continuity at a time when commercial teams need consistent direction to remain competitive.
Commenting on her appointment, Yonzon said: “It has been a truly rewarding journey with Summit Hotels and Resorts, and I am deeply honoured to step into this new role. Over the years, I’ve witnessed the brand’s incredible growth and the strength of our people-driven culture. As we move forward, my focus will be on deepening relationships, expanding our market presence and driving sales performance with renewed energy and purpose.”
Sumit Mitruka, Founder and CEO of Summit Hotels and Resorts, added: “Anjila’s leadership, dedication and deep understanding of the market make her a vital part of our leadership team. Her growth within the organisation truly reflects the spirit of Summit. We are confident that her strategic insight and relationship-driven approach will further enhance our sales performance and strengthen the brand’s presence across key markets.”
The appointment underscores Summit’s recognition that commercial leadership is central to sustaining growth, particularly as emerging travel corridors, digital distribution shifts and competitive pricing environments reshape how hotel groups secure demand. Strengthening sales capability remains key to the group’s long-term development strategy across leisure and business travel segments.
