Caterspoint is dream that came to existence 3 years ago. Co-founded by Chef Anshu Raj, it was a start-up that was invented with a very unique concept that will give the food market a new meaning to the food and beverage.

How has the f&b business evolved in the country over the last few years?

The real boom that has been implied in the market started from the year 2014. Improvements in distribution are a major part of the development of the food industry. Before the Industrial Revolution, people consumed food and drinks mainly from local markets. Today, thanks to transportation and cold storage facilities, food can be taken to stores anywhere.

According to the National Restaurant Association of India, food service will be worth nearly $68 billion by 2018.

The number of fine dining, casual dining, and quick service restaurants is growing in cities. Younger professionals are their biggest customers. Home delivery and takeaways are also gaining popularity.

The challenges are real-estate prices; lack of availability of personnel with knowledge of basic service etiquette; electricity and water supply; sourcing of raw foodstuff; and the number of licences needed. With the growth of technology, the F&B industry is gaining a lot of popularity.

 Could you please explain in detail the concept of hand-crafted food?

Hand- crafted food is the concept where the food is specially designed to with hand skilfully to bring out the best of the natural ingredients. This concept is now a days very popular with innovative and exquisite cuisines.

The Exotic and delectable salads that are made with garden green veggies other popular ingredients are well harmonised that can be termed as hand crafted food. These are unique, premium and classy healthy food which is natural in its own way.

People are now very much interested in try out new things and hand-crafted food is in high demand in the market. Hand Crafted food or beverage is by a producer who uses traditional methods and ingredients to create a handcrafted product and has a connection and understanding of the end consumer. This creates a personal bond and loyalty among the clients.

How are you maintain health and taste factor?

While designing a menu or a dish, maintaining a health and taste factor is very important for any consumer. In the current generation health is very important where food is concerned. We sometimes overlook these factors and do not understand how much needed it is in our daily lives.

Our menu is diversified in to various categories and we have kept in mind that every dish should maintain a level of Calorie count in it with proper nutritional value and also the taste of the dish should able to satisfy the palate of the client. Using of fresh ingredients, high quality products, hygiene and also our home-made dips and sauces plays an important part to balance health and taste of our products.

High level of research and development is done in order to calculate the harmony between various ingredients and to bring out the best of each item in the menu. We are keen in bring out new launches every season and give our customers something spectacular to relish.
