The Shimla Hotel & Restaurant Association (SHRA) is organising a two-day vaccination camp for its members and staff members of the member hotels and restaurants in the city this week-end. The vaccination drive organised at The Legacy Hotel was inaugurated by Aditya Negi, District Collector, Shimla. The association is expecting to vaccinate around 500 people through the first camp. According to Sanjay Sood, President of SHRA, the drive is organised on payment basis in collaboration with a private hospital in Baddi.
Shimla hospitality association organises vaccination camp for members “The objective of the drive is to ensure that all the frontline staff of the hotels and restaurants in Shimla are safe. That will help revive tourism in Shimla with visitors feeling confident to travel to the destination and stay in hotels and dine in restaurants,” said Sood. He felt that the initiative by SHRA will motivate trade associations in other districts to take the lead and vaccinate the members and staff.
“We will certainly organise more such camps in coming weeks,” Sood said, after taking the vaccine at the event held at the Legacy Hotel in Shimla.
The state government had announced removal of travel restrictions imposed after the second wave early this month.
