Novotel Hyderabad Convention Centre and Hyderabad International Convention Centre appoint S V Sathyam to lead their people and culture agenda, reflecting a renewed focus on workforce capability, leadership development and operational alignment.
Large convention-led hospitality assets increasingly depend on resilient workforce systems to maintain service consistency across high-volume, multi-format events. In Hyderabad, where demand for large-scale meetings and exhibitions continues to expand, the people function plays a central role in ensuring stability, capability and cohesion across operational teams. Against this backdrop, Novotel Hyderabad Convention Centre and Hyderabad International Convention Centre appoint S V Sathyam as Director of People and Culture.
The appointment places Sathyam in charge of talent management, organisational culture and human resources strategy across both properties. NHCC and HICC collectively manage substantial event throughput and diverse service requirements, making workforce readiness fundamental to sustaining performance. His role carries direct implications for operational effectiveness, colleague engagement and long-term organisational resilience.
Sathyam’s return to Accor, following his previous tenure at Novotel Hyderabad Airport, brings familiarity with the brand’s systems and expectations. His background in hospitality-focused human resources, combined with experience in talent development and culture-building, supports the organisation’s intent to strengthen internal capabilities. The people and culture function remains integral to aligning teams around service standards, safety practices, leadership pipelines and continuous learning frameworks.
Mr Rubin Cherian, General Manager of Novotel Hyderabad Convention Centre and HICC, said: “We are delighted to welcome S V Sathyam to our leadership team. His deep understanding of human resources and his passion for nurturing talent will be crucial as we continue to grow and enhance our guest and colleague experience.”
In his mandate, Sathyam is expected to focus on strengthening talent acquisition, improving retention, enhancing learning and development structures and supporting career mobility within the organisation. These elements are particularly relevant for large convention centres, where workforce needs span technical event operations, front-of-house roles, culinary teams and service departments that must collaborate seamlessly during peak conference cycles.
The appointment also aligns with a wider shift in the MICE and hospitality sector, where people strategies are increasingly integrated with commercial planning. As Hyderabad consolidates its position as a major business events hub, NHCC and HICC are investing in workforce capability as a competitive differentiator, ensuring that operational teams can respond to rising demand and evolving guest expectations.
Sathyam’s addition to the leadership group underscores the organisation’s recognition that sustained service delivery is rooted in culture, capability and employee engagement — core drivers for any large-format events and hospitality complex.
