The Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL) has expanded its Karnataka footprint by signing a 115-key SeleQtions resort in Devanahalli. This project, a partnership with BABA Developers Private Limited, involves converting an existing standalone property and significantly scaling its room count. Strategically located near the international airport, the resort targets the region’s booming aerospace, defence, and biotechnology sectors.
The SeleQtions Prakruthi Resort will feature a speciality restaurant, a bar, and over 6,000 sq. ft. of banqueting space designed for high-stakes corporate events. Suma Venkatesh, Executive Vice President, IHCL, noted that Devanahalli’s rapid infrastructure growth makes it a vital lodging market for the group. This signing takes IHCL’s Bengaluru portfolio to 20 hotels, including 11 currently in the pipeline. It marks a calculated move to dominate the short-haul luxury and MICE segments in India’s silicon capital before competitors can saturate the corridor.
