Corporate Ramadan banqueting has emerged as a significant revenue stream for large-format convention venues across the Gulf, with demand shifting towards high-capacity, fully serviced environments. In Bahrain, Exhibition World Bahrain is positioning itself for what it expects to be its busiest Ramadan season since opening in November 2022.

On 16 February 2026, the Sakhir-based venue announced that corporate demand for large-scale Iftar and Ghabga gatherings is driving strong forward bookings for the holy month. The Ramadan offering is centred on the pre-function areas and the Grand Hall, with the former accommodating up to 300 guests and the latter offering banqueting capacity for up to 2,000 guests. The wider portfolio of exhibition halls and configurable event spaces enables the venue to host significantly larger gatherings where required.

High-capacity spaces for corporate gatherings

The Ramadan programme has been structured to cater to both mid-sized and large-scale corporate events. Beyond the Grand Hall and pre-function spaces, the venue’s 10 exhibition halls and convention facilities allow simultaneous hosting of multiple functions, providing scalability for organisations planning high-attendance evenings.

Ramadan-themed décor and ambient enhancements form part of the offering, with the venue curating a setting designed to reflect the traditions of the holy month while maintaining a formal corporate environment.

Integrated catering as a differentiator

A central component of the Ramadan operation is the venue’s in-house catering infrastructure. Its 3,600-square-metre production kitchen — described as the largest commercial kitchen in Bahrain — supports customised menu execution across traditional Bahraini and Arabic cuisine, alongside Mediterranean, Asian and international selections.

With the operational capacity to serve up to 10,000 guests per day, the culinary team delivers menus through standardised recipes and streamlined production systems, supported by experienced banquet service teams. This integrated model enables consistent quality control across multiple large-format functions during peak demand evenings.

Strengthening its corporate banqueting position

Inaugurated in November 2022 and owned by the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority, Exhibition World Bahrain has positioned itself as a major MICE and events venue in the Kingdom. Its Ramadan programme forms part of a broader corporate hospitality strategy, reinforcing its focus on high-capacity, multi-format event delivery.

As the 2026 holy month approaches, the venue is preparing for sustained corporate bookings, underscoring the growing role of large convention centres in hosting structured Ramadan gatherings across the region.
