DS Group brings Ben’s Cookies to India

Premium dessert and café brands are increasingly eyeing India as urban consumers shift towards handcrafted, experience-led food formats and premium indulgence categories. DS Group has now partnered with British dessert brand Ben’s Cookies to launch the brand in India.

DS Group announced an exclusive partnership with Ben’s Cookies on 27 May 2026, marking the British cookie brand’s entry into the Indian market through a bakery-first retail model focused on freshly baked products and premium gifting.

Founded in Oxford in 1983, Ben’s Cookies is globally known for its signature chunky and gooey cookies made using fresh butter and chocolate chunks.

India expansion targets premium dessert market

The India launch forms part of DS Group’s wider expansion into premium food retail and café-led experiences as consumer demand grows for artisanal and freshly prepared products.

According to the company, Ben’s Cookies India plans to open eight to 10 physical stores during the current financial year while also expanding through ecommerce and food delivery platforms.

The product line-up will include flavours such as Milk Chocolate Chunk, White Chocolate & Macadamia, Ginger & Dark Chocolate, alongside dedicated eggless variants for the Indian market.

The brand will also introduce gifting formats targeted at festive and corporate occasions, with pricing starting from INR325 for individual cookies.

Sanskriti Gupta, Ben’s Cookies India, said, “The arrival of Ben’s Cookies in India marks a significant milestone in DS Group’s strategic expansion within the premium food retail sector.”

She added, “We are delighted to introduce a piece of British heritage to the Indian market, combining a forty-year legacy of artisanal baking with DS Group’s rooted understanding of Indian palate and the ever-evolving consumer preferences.”

Fresh baking and experiential retail in focus

Luke Menezes, Ben’s Cookies, said the India boutiques would feature live-oven baking formats to maintain the brand’s traditional product standards.

He said, “Every Ben’s Cookies boutique will feature a live-oven baking fresh batches throughout the day.”

The company also plans to introduce cookie shakes, coffee, and cookie ice cream sandwiches as part of its broader café-style experience.

Industry estimates shared by the company indicate that India’s cookie market, valued at US$1.3 bn in 2024, is projected to reach US$2.3 bn by 2033, driven by urban affluence and premiumisation trends.

The partnership reflects growing international interest in India’s premium café and dessert segment, where consumers are increasingly seeking globally recognised brands, fresh bakery concepts, and experiential dining formats.
