After a 2024 slump, Indian travel surges to 25% for Sun Siyam Resorts in Maldives

Unveiling a bold new identity, Sun Siyam Resorts hosted an evening soirée for the Indian travel trade in New Delhi as part of its 35-year celebrations. During the celebration, the brand expressed optimism about the resurgence of business from India following last year’s political turbulence. Deepak Booneady, CEO, Sun Siyam Resorts, noted that while political unrest led to a 17% dip in business in 2024, the trend has reversed sharply — with some resorts witnessing 10–15% growth and the overall Indian market growing by 25% in 2025. The group expects this momentum to continue into 2026. Talking about brand expansion, Booneady added that the company is keen to explore opportunities in India to manage properties across varied landscapes, from mountains to beaches and forests.
